AZ ChopperCam is based in the metro Phoenix area. More specifically Mesa, Arizona. We offer aerial photography and aerial video servies from traditional manned helicopters & airplanes as well as unmanned remotely controlled helicopters.

For manned aircraft missions we operate from a Bell Jet Ranger, Robinson R44, and for fixed wing missions we fly a Taylorcraft BC12-D. We have the ability to mount a gyro stabilized Tyler mount to the Jet Ranger. With the R44 and Taylorcraft we shoot out of a removed door or opened window.

For unmanned missions we fly a various collection of Mikado Logo helicopters capable of carrying 3-7lb payloads.

There are many cases where the use of unmanned helicopters is a great alternative to manned helicopter operations in terms of safety of persons or property on the ground. Our unmanned aircraft are small and less than 15lb in weight. They are powered by reliable 3 phase electric motors. In the rare event that the power system should fail our helicopters are capable of performing an auto-rotation landing under full control just like a full scale helicopter.

Our unmanned helicopters are also able to get into smaller quarters and fly lower than a full-size helicopter. Noise is also a major concern for some locations. Our helicopters make about 10% of the noise that a full-size helicopter would make.

Granted, there are many times when a full-size helicopter is the optimum platform and we'll tell you when we feel that's the case, but a majority of the shots you'll require can be shot more efficiently by using our unmanned aircraft and the cost will keep you within budget.

Safety is priority #1 when we operate our aircraft. We take the same types of precautions that a full sized manned helicopter operation would take.
